If you need to clean the entire shade, immerse the assembly into lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Move the shade around lightly with your fingers. After about five minutes of washing, rinse the shade with clean water. Make sure to close the shade before removing it from the rinse water. While holding the rails, tilt the shade to allow excess water to escape. Re-install the damp shade back into the window opening and lower the shade all the way to allow it to dry completely.
Do not ever immerse Blackout fabrics. Do not ever immerse either Continuous Cord Systems.
For a comprehensive cleaning of Cellular Shades, you can use a professional ultrasonic cleaning. However, the shade should be handled with a mild cleansing solution and should be washed carefully. In addition, makes sure that the fabric is in a stacked or closed position when it is being removed from the tank so that water can't get trapped in the honeycombs.
Don't do ultrasonic cleaning with Blackout fabrics. Don't do ultrasonic cleaning with Standard or Heavy Duty Continuous Cord Systems.
